We provide an end–to-end service when a policyholder is taken ill abroad and needs to be repatriated home or evacuated to another country where better medical facilities are available for emergency treatment.

Where appropriate, we liaise directly with the patient, their families and treating doctors, regarding treatment and evacuation/repatriation options. Our expertise in assessing a patient’s condition and medical needs means we can make informed decisions about whether to use air ambulances or commercial flights with appropriately qualified and equipped medical escorts, saving unnecessary costs without compromising on patient care.

Importantly, our critical care staff have the experience and knowledge to evaluate a situation quickly and recommend the best course of action – whether that means arranging emergency treatment locally before repatriation home, evacuating the patient to another hospital or country for emergency treatment, or arranging immediate repatriation home.

For example, instead of evacuating a patient to the US, where the medical costs are very high, we will seek to arrange treatment elsewhere if appropriate - e.g. the French island of Martinique in the Caribbean, taking advantage of the French/UK reciprocal agreement on health.

In fact, we arrange approximately 1,500 repatriations a year, from around 100 different countries, including round 350 by air ambulance, making us one of the largest and most experienced repatriation companies in Europe.

• medical equipment for at least 24 simultaneous medically escorted
  commercial transfers and four air ambulance transfers
• a database of over 100 medical escorts of various specialities
• ambulance companies around the world
